Close Reading for Meaning™ 201 Institute

During this training, participants will learn best practices for effectively teaching Close Reading for Meaning™ Day 2, Craft and Structure. With an emphasis on author’s craft, transferable teaching and short written response, participants will learn how to facilitate authentic discussion, study student work, and give actionable feedback.

Participants will gain:

  • A deep understanding of how to plan for and teach Close Reading for Meaning™ Day 2: Craft and Structure
  • Robust opportunities for planning and practice
  • A strong understanding of how to identify and select the highest leverage craft and structure “moves” in each text
  • Lavinia Group’s proven methods for making the teaching of response-to-literature writing transferable and engaging, leveraging real-time student feedback and discourse
