Achievement Institute for Leaders
1-Day Institute

When implemented effectively, the Close Reading for Meaning method allows schools to do significantly less formal test preparation.  This institute will teach leaders to build upon a strong foundation of Close Reading for Meaning to ensure their teachers and students tackle the high-stakes ELA exams with confidence, precision, and meaning front and center.  Participants will come away with:

  • A clear roadmap for what students and teachers must master and when in order for students to excel on the ELA exam (and what to do if you fall behind)
  • A clear understanding of what excellent test prep instruction looks like and how to effectively coach teachers
  • Specific systems for managing test prep instruction across your school
  • Structures for effective test prep planning meetings
  • Robust practice and feedback leading a test prep planning meeting
  • A strong understanding of how to craft and leverage Strategic Leading Plans
  • Clear strategies for investing the entire school community in preparing for the state exams
  • Lavinia Group’s newest thinking and resources for mastery on high-stakes exams
