Catherine Prefontaine Hausmann
A proud product of Buffalo, NY, Cate is a passionate and seasoned school and systems level leader with a robust background in special education across elementary and middle school content areas. Cate has enjoyed a career teaching as a TFA corps member, leading schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx, and consulting in district, charter and turnaround schools in urban and rural districts around the United States and in South Africa. She is honored to continue her work with the Lavinia Group team as an instructional consultant committed to anti-racism and equity as well as adult learning, leader capacity building, innovative systems creation and empowering students to be creative and independent thinkers committed to lifelong learning. Cate has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Boston College and also studied at University of Cape Town and University at Buffalo during undergrad. She holds a Master’s Degree in Students with Disabilities from CUNY Hunter GSE and also studied at Teacher U/Relay GSE.
