Tara has been in education for nearly 20 years. Most recently, she served as principal of a public charter school in Harlem, New York, for eight years. Under her leadership, the elementary school consistently maintained high performance with 99% of her students passing the NYS Math exam, and 92% of students passing the NYS ELA exam, placing her school in the top 2% of the state. Prior to becoming a school leader, Tara taught in Harlem and the Bronx. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Binghamton and is certified Pre-K-Grade 6.
