What are Professional Learning Labs?

Professional Learning Labs are immersive, virtual learning experiences designed to address high-impact topics in education. Each lab includes four 90-minute sessions where you’ll participate in meaningful discussions, share ideas with others, and apply what you learn to your unique challenges.

Session 2: Measuring Progress

Identify benchmarks and use data to track progress toward your goals. Learn how to implement tools and processes to measure success and adjust your approach.

In this session, participants will:

Learn how to analyze teacher lesson plans and use tools like a main idea tracker to monitor student data.
Create a personalized calendar to align with their monitoring plans, including time for observations, coaching, modeling, debriefs, intellectual preparation, and student work review.

Session 3: Intellectual Preparation Meetings

Strengthen teacher instruction by leading effective preparation meetings. Collaborate on lesson plans and strategies to ensure readiness for impactful teaching.

Establish structures for Intellectual Preparation (IP) meetings to support teacher instruction.
Explore how to craft actionable steps for teachers using their own thinking.
Develop 'Look Fors' to track evidence of progress and practice facilitating a discourse on a main idea.

The role and purpose of Intellectual preparation meetings in schools.
Essential components of successful IP meetings.
Strategies to:

Session 4: Student Work Study Meetings
