Participants will learn the Close Reading for Meaning method in this introductory workshop. Incorporating the science of reading research, our Close Reading for Meaning approach focuses on using genre as an inroad to support students in making meaning from text, all emphasizing joy and precision. The Close Reading for Meaning method gives teachers and leaders the tools to help students distill any text’s literal and deeper meaning and use this initial understanding as the anchor for further analysis.
