Annie is excited to bring her experience as both a teacher and school leader across grades 5-12 to Lavinia Group. With over a decade of experience in education, supporting teachers and leaders in their development as content experts is at the heart of her passion. Prior to joining Lavinia Group, Annie served as a High School Principal with Uncommon Schools in Newark, NJ. During her tenure as Principal, her school consistently ranked in the top two high schools across the network on quarterly assessments, SAT exams, and AP performance—her campus had one of the highest AP indexes across the state of New Jersey. She received Uncommon’s “Rookie Principal of the Year” award for effectively turning around student culture, staff culture, and student achievement during her first year as Principal.
Prior to becoming Principal, Annie served in many capacities, including as a Humanities Instructional Coach, Head of Lower School, Principal Fellow, and 8-12 English and Language Arts teacher. Annie has trained Principal Fellows, Deans of Curriculum and Instruction, Deans of Students, network leaders, instructional leaders, and teachers over her tenure as a school leader. Annie started her career in education with Teach for America, teaching High School English and Language Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from The College of New Jersey, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a certification from the National Principals Academy Fellowship through the Relay Graduate School of Education.
