Denae Howard

Senior Instructional Consultant

As a Chemistry major from Howard University, with a master’s degree in Education, Denae brings STEM expertise and a passion for educational equity to the Lavinia Group. A New York TFA alum, Denae has taught middle school science, helped develop a 6th grade chemistry science curriculum, and led STEM departments across three middle schools while delivering stellar results. In her most recent role, Denae served as principal of a Grade 5-8 middle school in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, where her school ranked in top 1% on the NYS Math Exam and top 3% on the NYS English Language Arts Exam. Her 8th graders also took three high school-level exams: Algebra I (Grade 9 exam), U.S. History and Government (Grade 10 exam), and Living Environment (Grade 9), with pass rates of 100% for Algebra I and U.S History and 97% for Living Environment. Pass rates remained above 85% for all three subjects even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Denae is committed to ensuring that scholars receive a quality education that will give them access and opportunity, allowing them to choose a life for themselves. She believes that there is no limit for what our future leaders can achieve.
