Julia is an experienced teacher, curriculum writer, and instructional leader passionate about improving equitable outcomes for all students. Julia began her career in education as a 4th grade literacy teacher in Washington D.C. where she led her students to achieve exceptional growth – 85% of her students were proficient on the PARCC exam, compared to 38% statewide. She has since worked in public charter schools achieving excellent results for kids in New Orleans, Washington D.C., and Detroit. Julia earned a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, a Masters in Education Leadership from Relay Graduate School of Education, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Vanderbilt University.
