Ozzie Henderson

Ozzie is an energetic and passionate educator with 10 years of experience in education specializing in project management, inquiry-based curriculum development, and student engagement. During his career as an educator, he has developed teachers and students in public, charter, and independent schools. He started his career with Teach for America as a 2012 Corps Member, teaching high school in the Las Vegas Valley region where he served as a STEM team lead. He helped redesign the science curriculum and led his school to a 15% increase in science state testing results. After three years in Las Vegas, he joined Success Academy Charter Schools network as a lead Chemistry teacher at their founding high school where he helped develop the founding science curriculum, school systems, and shape school culture for excellence that saw 100% college admission in its first two years. He also created and developed the athletics program and curriculum while coaching new teachers to improve classroom efficiency, and achieve targeted student outcomes. Ozzie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from La Salle University and a Master’s degree in Education for Secondary Science, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
