What are RedThread Foundations and RedThread Knowledge?

  • : A robust early literacy program that blends systematic phonics instruction with knowledge-building in science, social studies, and literature to foster confident and skilled readers.
  • RedThread Knowledge: An advanced ELA curriculum designed to build literacy and comprehension skills while integrating science, social studies, and literature to deepen students’ understanding of the world.

This professional development series offers experienced educators advanced training to refine and improve their teaching of both programs. Through two hands-on workshops and ongoing virtual sessions, participants will gain strategies, tools, and insights to ensure effective instruction.

Two In-Person Daylong Workshops

RedThread Foundations Workshop

RedThread Knowledge Workshop

  • Date: Friday, August 22, 2025
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET

What You Will Learn:
These workshops are designed to provide advanced insights into Units 1 and 2 of each program. Participants will:

  • Explore ways to enhance literacy instruction and student engagement through deeper integration of program strategies.
  • Analyze instructional challenges and share advanced techniques for differentiation and scaffolding.
  • Develop innovative approaches to pacing, fostering critical thinking, and engaging students in knowledge-building activities.
  • Collaborate with peers to exchange best practices and classroom-tested ideas.

Virtual Unit Launches with In-Depth Practice Opportunities (Units 3-6)

Overview: These sessions provide targeted, ongoing support for each program, offering insights and practical tools to address unit-specific objectives and challenges.

What You Will Learn:

  • Learn advanced strategies for scaffolding, differentiation, and classroom discussions.
  • Refine techniques for integrating literacy with content knowledge in science, social studies, and literature.
  • Gain actionable insights tailored to address the specific needs of your students.
  • Collaborate with peers to troubleshoot and innovate instructional strategies.
