What is RedThread Knowledge?

RedThread Knowledge is a comprehensive ELA curriculum designed to simultaneously build students’ knowledge and literacy skills. Integrating science, social studies, and literature into daily lessons empowers educators to provide students with meaningful learning experiences that enhance their comprehension, critical thinking, and engagement with the world. This program ensures students learn how to read and develop a deeper understanding of the content they encounter.

This series equips educators with the strategies and resources to confidently deliver the RedThread Knowledge curriculum. Through hands-on activities, collaborative discussions, and actionable guidance, educators will be prepared to foster literacy growth and knowledge-building in their classrooms.


Session Structure

Daylong In-Person Workshop

  • Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2025
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET

What Participants Will Learn:
During this immersive workshop, participants will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the structure, goals, and pedagogy of Units 1 and 2.
  • Explore strategies for integrating literacy instruction with science and social studies content-rich topics.
  • Learn techniques for pacing lessons, scaffolding learning for diverse student needs, and facilitating meaningful classroom discussions.
  • Build confidence in using RedThread Knowledge resources to create engaging and effective lessons.

Virtual Unit Launches (Units 3-6)

Overview: The virtual unit launches are designed to provide ongoing support throughout the school year, helping educators prepare for each unit with actionable insights, strategies, and tools tailored to the needs of their students.

  • What Participants Will Learn:
    • Introduction to the content and instructional approaches for each unit.
    • Discover techniques to address challenging standards and concepts.
    • Receive classroom-ready strategies for fostering critical thinking and knowledge-building.
    • Collaborate with other educators to share best practices and insights.
