Impact

When it comes to high-impact summer learning, it's not merely about extending the school year—it's about achieving growth in skills and preparing for the school year to come. Drawing from our extensive curriculum and professional development expertise, our program has grown student math and reading skills year over year for three consecutive years.

In November 2022, the Indiana Department of Education partnered with the National Center for Assessments to conduct an external study to evaluate the academic acceleration achieved by students participating in a Student Learning Recovery Grant program.

The study revealed that students who participated in Indy Summer Learning Labs achieved statistically significant gains, as measured by increases in student growth scores, above their pre-pandemic rates of learning, and did better than their peers who did not participate in the program. As the core academic program for Indy Summer Learning Labs, Lavinia Group professional development, curriculum, and coaching practices and strategies directly contributed to statistically significant learning acceleration.

MATH

A decline in the number of students categorized as "below basic" in Math following the successful completion of a summer learning program serves as compelling evidence of the program's ability to remediate learning gaps, enhance skills, and set students firmly on the road to academic achievement.

INDY SUMMER LEARNING LABS

Reports 2nd Year of Double-Digit Growth

For the second consecutive year, Marion County students who attended Indy Summer Learning Labs (ISLL), a five-week, free or low-cost summer learning and enrichment program, saw double-digit proficiency point gains in English/language arts (ELA) and math, according to data released today from The Mind Trust and United Way of Central Indiana.

ISLL’s remarkable success was powered by 100 licensed teachers using Lavinia Group's RISE Summer Program —guaranteeing educational excellence in line with Indiana state English & math standards.
