What is RedThread Knowledge?

RedThread Knowledge is an ELA curriculum that integrates science, social studies, and literature to build students’ knowledge and literacy skills simultaneously. This program equips educators to deliver lessons that go beyond foundational literacy, fostering critical thinking, comprehension, and a deeper engagement with diverse content.

Designed for educators returning to RedThread Knowledge, this series offers advanced professional development to refine instructional strategies, address challenges, and optimize classroom impact. With a focus on in-depth analysis, practical application, and collaboration, this training builds on your existing expertise to help you elevate student outcomes.


Session Structure

Advanced Daylong In-Person Workshop

  • Date: Friday, August 22, 2025
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET

What You’ll Learn:
This workshop is tailored for experienced educators ready to dive deeper into the curriculum and refine their teaching practices. Participants will:

  • Analyze Units 1 and 2 with a focus on enhancing student engagement and comprehension.
  • Explore advanced strategies for integrating literacy with content knowledge in science and social studies.
  • Address common instructional challenges and discover ways to personalize learning for diverse classrooms.
  • Collaborate with peers to exchange insights, best practices, and innovative approaches to RedThread Knowledge implementation.

Virtual Unit Launches with In-Depth Practice (Units 3-6)

Overview: The virtual sessions provide ongoing, advanced support to help educators prepare for each unit with a focus on practical application and peer collaboration.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Deepen your understanding of each unit’s objectives and how to address advanced literacy challenges.
  • Practice implementing strategies for scaffolding complex texts, fostering critical thinking, and promoting rich discussions.
  • Gain actionable insights tailored to your classroom’s unique needs.
  • Participate in collaborative problem-solving with fellow educators to refine techniques.
